What are the effects of bullying?

Face-to-face bullying can result in long-term psychological harm to the targets. This includes low self-esteem, depression, anger, school failure and avoidance, and, in some cases, school violence or suicide.


Some effects of cyber bullying include school refusal, poor grades, lower self-esteem, health problems and complaints, higher use of alcohol or drugs, truancy, higher rates of depression and anxiety, higher rates of suicidal thoughts and attempts, and experience intense feelings of shame.
