Employers and their employees should be mindful of the following in their organization in order to reduce the risk of workplace violence:
1. Disgruntled workers with perceived injustices in the workplace and have made complaints but feel unheard or not understood.
2. Individuals who have made threats against (including but not limited to) workers, supervisors or the organization.
3. Low self-esteem, preoccupation with weapons and socially disconnected.
